A general rule of thumb. If you are in an accident:
It isn’t your fault – The other person has insurance. A not at fault claim is filed. The other persons insurance covers it.
It isn’t your fault – The other person does not have insurance. The other person can get in legal trouble but sometimes your insurance covers it with “uninsurance”.
It is your fault and you have insurance. Your insurance will cover the other car. If you do not have liability only and you do have a deductible on your car.
