SR-22 Insurance
SR-22 insurance is insurance that is required when you need to get your drivers license back from the court after losing it. Most of the time it is paired with driving under the influence of some sort of substance that will impair you. It involves getting caught and having to do a form of rehabilitation class.
Most of the time it has to do with driving under the influence but it can also occur if someone just gets an obscene amount of accidents or is a terrible driver.
How Long Do You Have to Have SR-22 Insurance For?
It depends by each city and state rules as well as each individual case. If someone has done something similar to the same thing before the consequences can be worse.

How To File SR-22 Insurance
Not all insurance carriers cover SR-22 insurance. Most of the time it is about finding the carrier that writes it and then marking “SR-22” or actually another term that insurance carriers use to refer to it as is “state filing” because you need to file it with the state. Marking “YES” on “state filing” or something similar to “SR-22 Required” and then showing the necessary documents such as certificate of insurance or i.d. cards to a person. Sometimes some carriers won’t mention anything about having certain coverages when you have it. Sometimes you will be able to see these coverages in a 10-20 page “Declaration Page”.
