What does 25/50/25 mean?
When you get into an accident it is your liability limits. The amount you are protected for if you get sued.
$25,000 per a individual person for personal injury. If someone gets injured and their are hospital bills
$50,000 per a accident for personal injury limits. So 2 people could receive a $25,000 payout each. Or 3 people could not get more than $50,000 total.
$25,000 the last $25,000 is for property damage. Damage to other objects and cars.
Sometimes in personal injury cases an injury can be valued at hundreds of thousands of dollars to even millions. So driving with $25,000 per a person is not much. Same thing with vehicles on the road today. A lot of vehicles these days are valued at more than $25,000 for just a single vehicle.
25/50/25 is the state minimum limits in most states such as Missouri. It is normally not recommended to have the minimum coverages.
